Sauvignon Blanc 83%, Sémillon 17%
This is, as ever, a generous and expressive white wine, taking its character from the extended lees contact in barrel. The aromas are tropical: pineapple and mango. The palate is rich and creamy, in part from the 30% new oak. There are plenty of components all seemingly playing at top volume but, undeniably, the wine is great fun. It doesn’t topple over into excess; there are some pithy textures and tannins, as the grapes are not destalked. This is an individual and rewarding wine.
