Description
Pappy Van winkle 15 years old Bourbon is made from a formula of 75% corn, 20% wheat and 5% barley results in a smoother and sweeter flavour which marries well with the extra ageing the Van Winkle bourbons experience.
No American bourbon or rye whiskey uses any caramel colouring; all the colour comes from ageing in the charred mountain oak barrels.
Tasting Note: “The wheat in the Pappy Van Winkle 15 year recipe is obvious on the palate. 15 years ageing in deep-charred heavy oak gives this older whiskey a smooth, char flavour that blends well with the cask strength alcohol level.”
