Description
NV Henri Giraud Dame Jane Rosé Champagne is a beautifully expressive rosé that tells the tale of heritage and innovation with every effervescent sip. Replacing the former Esprit Rosé, Dame Jane is crafted to captivate with its unique blend and historical inspiration.
The winemaking process behind Dame Jane Rosé is as innovative as it is respectful of tradition. The base wine, known as Hommage – a blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay – is meticulously vinified with 2 years on yeast in stainless steel tanks and aged for 6 months in Argonne oak barrels. Before bottling, it is blended with 6% red Pinot Noir Coteaux Champenois from 70-year-old vines, which is fermented and aged in amphorae and demi-johns. This careful integration of heritage red wine adds an extra layer of complexity and character to the rosé.
Dame Jane Rosé Champagne is more than just a drink; it is a storyteller. Its inspiration hails from the ancient Persian city of Damghan on the Silk Road, evoking the legacy of historic merchant fleets and the art of transporting wine in terracotta. The result is a champagne that speaks in vivid bursts of red fruit, spice, and floral elegance. This is a wine that, once tasted, is impossible to forget.
Pairing Suggestions: Excellent with fresh seafood platters, herb-crusted chicken, or light Mediterranean salads; also delightful as an aperitif to elevate festive moments.
Tasting Note: Exquisitely pale strawberry with delicate orange highlights, releasing lively bubbles and an expressive bouquet of crushed strawberry, biscuit, and grenadine; evolving into rich floral aromas of roses and peonies, intertwined with subtle hints of aniseed and oak, culminating in a smooth, crisp, and fluid finish.
