Description
Marques de Murrieta was one of the first Rioja Houses to be established, in 1852, by Luciano Francisco Ramon de Murrieta – one of the founding fathers of modern Rioja winemaking. Drawing on his experiences in France, Luciano was a leader in using French winemaking techniques, to develop greater complexity and longevity from Tempranillo, Rioja`s indigenous red grape. Today, the philosophy continues to be built on quality. This 2021 Reserva is predominantly Tempranillo, aged in American oak barrels for 24 months. Mid ruby colour, the nose is fragrant and rich with spicy, ripe, red fruits – strawberry and cherry, with notes of black pepper and vanilla. Palate is full, fleshy and charming, with generous middle, and a creamily textured finish.
