Description
Jean-Paul took over at his family’s Terres Dorées Domaine nearly 50 years ago, and has built its reputation as one of Beaujolais` leading, quality-driven addresses. His Fleurie comes from 6 hectares of 65-year-old vines lying in the “Grille Midi” sector of the appellation – a south-facing amphitheatre to the west of the village. Colour is bright, ruby-purple, aromas being expressive and floral, with notes of fresh raspberries and perfumed red cherries. Palate is medium bodied and pure, having intense middle, good structure, and suave texture. The finish is long and fine.
“With grip and grunt under the plush Gamay fruit, this is a serious Fleurie, and it slips into the same position a red Burgundy would on your dining room table. Erudite, balanced and super-classy, this is a thrilling wine.”
