Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley isn’t the easiest place in the world to make wine, but it is one of the most remarkable. Clos St Alphonse is a delicious, mellow red wine from Lebanon’s oldest winery, in the heart of the Bakaa Valley.
The vineyards at Château Ksara lie at over 1,000 metres above sea level. At such high elevation, the sunlight is more intense, and the nights are crisper, which translates into incredible ripeness and complexity of flavour.
A blend of Carignan, Malbec and Syrah – all hand-picked – Clos St Alphonse reflects the formidable terroir of this ancient, mystical home. Full of juicy red and black fruit, warm spices and aromatic herbs, it pairs wonderfully with hearty stews, roast pork or creamy chicken dishes.
