Description
This delicious rosato is named after the ancestor of winemaker Scipi Giuliani (of Papavero fame). Always partial to a drop of pink wine, Aunt Rose and her husband, Umberto, left Italy for the US in 1890 and dedicated their lives to their favourite grape – Zinfandel (known as Primitivo in Italy). No wonder, then, he gained the nickname Uncle Zin, while Aunt Rose … well, she remained Aunt Rose!
With this in mind, Scipi produced the first edition of this full-of-fruit pink in 2024 and named it after her. In 2025, Claudio Galosi took up the winemaking baton and crafted this rosato.
Aunt Rose Rosato is made largely from Zinfandel/Primitivo grown in the rolling, sun-blessed vineyards of Puglia, while the juice was carefully cool fermented to capture all the berry fruit and freshness. A great choice on its own, or with soft cheeses, seafood, white meats or a classic fish soup.
