Batuta is crafted from two historic vineyards, each with unique altitudes and exposures. The meticulous selection process begins in the vineyard and continues at the selection table in the winery. Using delicate macerations, we create a wine that is complex, precise, and truly elegant, paying attention to every detail.
The 2018 Niepoort Batuta is made from a blend of indigenous Douro grape varieties, including Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz.
Tasting Note: Indulge in the luxurious 2018 Niepoort Batuta, with its deep ruby hue and lavish scents of black fruits, tobacco, and cedar. On the palate, this full-bodied wine offers opulent layers of ripe fruit, seamlessly blended tannins, and a lingering finish that will leave you feeling satisfied. Despite its relatively youthful character, the 2018 Batuta has great aging potential. We recommend decanting one hour before serving.
