The 1985 vintage was preceded by an exceptionally cold and wet winter, with night time temperatures in early January well below freezing. Aromas of ripe blackberry, plum, and dark chocolate dominate the nose, complemented by hints of spice and cedar. On the palate, it is full-bodied with velvety tannins, balanced acidity, and a lingering finish of dried fruits and nuts.
