This year’s delicious Master Blender’s Reserve focuses on casks from several vaunted distilleries in Barbados to provide the lion’s share of the blend. This gives a wonderfully fruit-driven aspect with particular notes of pineapple and lime, both fresh and finger-numbingly charred on the barbecue. Skilful use of well-aged stock from Jamaica and Guyana gives piquant funk and treacle richness, respectively. Dry and complex, this is one for slow sipping late into the evening.
