Description
Upon release, this is the oldest Tomatin to have ever emerged from the quiet, calm captivity of their warehouses. With great age comes wisdom, and that manifests itself here in an impeccably balanced interplay of malt and oak. It is remarkable to still be able to perceive fruitiness after five decades in barrel, but I find glorious touches of mischievously glistening orchard fruits, with even some nods towards more tropical produce. Not to be outdone, the wood is honey-scented and luxuriant, without any crass, unnecessary bombast. This is a dram worthy of the highest plaudits.
