Description
1995 was the first Lafleur-Gazin that we bought; 28 vintages on, with no interruptions, this 2023 is a pure beauty. The vines here lie on the northern edge of the central plateau of Pomerol, between two famous neighbours: Châteaux Gazin and Lafleur. The vineyards have been managed by Ets. Jean-Pierre Moueix since 1973, on behalf of the owners. 100% Merlot, nose is rich, ripe and fragrant with tightly concentrated red and black fruits. Palate is powerfully fruity and rounded, whilst having finesse and lift. This is an elegant Pomerol with perfumed, long-flavoured length (for drinking 2027-2038+).
