Description
This vineyard is situated at the heart of the slope, just south of the village. Blain-Gagnard’s holdings are in two plots, running from the bottom to the top of the site, giving an intricate wine of great complexity. Partly the soils are white, with many pebbles; higher up, they are marly, with fossil shells. This was vinified and has aged in small oak barrels, of which 15% were new. Lemon-gold in colour, it has richly complex, fully ripened aromas of great beauty. Palate is full-bodied, well-rounded and intense, needing bottle-age to show its paces, with impressive length (for drinking 2027-2032+).
