Fruit sourced from Quintas de Santo António, Cruzeiro and Panascal. Cima Corgo schist soils at altitude yield concentrated, structured grapes. Grapes foot-trodden in traditional stone lagares at Quintas Cruzeiro and Panascal. Fermentation extended in the 1997 heat to preserve balance before fortification. Bottled as a classic declared vintage port. Floral, raspberry and fresh berry nose with cedar and tobacco complexity. Elegant and complete on the palate, with rich dark fruit, chocolate and firm tannins. The finish is long and structured.
